Less than a month after Vice was slapped with a damning lawsuit, in which a former female manager alleges that the media giant engages in systemic pay discrimination against female staffers. The lawsuit came just two months after the New York Times published a lengthy exposé detailing the ugly corporate culture of the parent company to Vice, i-D, Noisey, and Garage, among other outlets, including four settlements involving allegations of sexual harassment or defamation against Vice employees, after which the media company announced that its chief digital officer, Mike Germano, would not return to the company.
Now, Vogue has announced that it is “putting an indefinite hold on its partnership with Vice,” per WWD. “Both Vogue and Vice are committed to creating the most relevant, innovative content experiences for audiences, and at this time, have mutually decided to delay their content collaboration,” spokespeople from Vogue and Vice confirmed in a joint statement.
The project, which was tentatively entitled, Project Vs, was slated to launch on Wednesday, “has not been officially shelved, it seems unlikely that they will be sharing the content they created with the world anytime soon,” according to the trade publication.
